Attorney Arbel Feldman was identified as the victim in a fatal shooting at his Rishon Lezion office on Tuesday, allegedly by a former client. The 23-year-old suspect, who represented by Feldman in a personal-injury claim, reportedly admitted to the shooting and was detained until August 16. The dispute stemmed from the suspect's belief that Feldman improperly transferred compensation money to his father. Feldman was found with multiple gunshot wounds, and colleagues reported hearing an argument before shots were fired.
"We will not allow this criminal murder to pass without a response," Israel Bar Association head Amit Becher said. "Israeli society must set a clear boundary against violence and hatred."
The Israel Bar Association protested the killing, demanding greater protection for legal professionals.
