Rubio dismisses claims China gave Iran information to target ships in Hormuz

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismissed claims that China provided Iran with targeting information for ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Following a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Manila, Rubio stated, "In some cases, they’ve actually been quite cooperative" regarding freedom of navigation. He noted China's clear stance against restrictions on global shipping through international waterways. Rubio reiterated U.S. openness to diplomacy with Iran but expressed distrust due to Iran's violation of a recent Memorandum of Understanding. He also highlighted Iran's role in destabilizing the region by supporting groups like the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas, stating, "Talk about the troublemaker in the region: It’s Iran."
