SCOOP: Dominican Republic adopting IHRA working definition of Jew-hatred

The Dominican Republic has adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism, becoming the seventh Latin American country to do so. Foreign Minister Víctor Bisonó announced the decision, which follows engagement with organizations like the Combat Antisemitism Movement and the Israel Allies Foundation. The IHRA definition helps identify when criticism crosses into antisemitism by applying double standards or denying Jewish self-determination. The Dominican Republic has a unique history with Jewish people, having offered asylum to Jewish refugees during the Holocaust. This adoption brings the global total of national governments using the definition to 46.
