Shin Bet chief David Zini: I alone made decision to deny Gadi Eisenkot security detail

Shin Bet Director David Zini stated on Sunday that he alone made the decision to deny security detail to Yashar party leader and prime ministerial candidate Gadi Eisenkot. This clarification followed uncertainty after the Central Elections Committee (CEC) confirmed Zini had contacted them regarding Yashar's security request. The CEC noted Zini informed them the Shin Bet "does not possess intelligence indicating any intention" to target Eisenkot. Despite this, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed Zini to ensure Eisenkot receives appropriate security. Yashar had objected to the decision, citing "growing threats" and arguing their private security was insufficient.
