Sirens sound across Bahrain, Kuwait as Iran threatens 'heavy costs' following US strikes

Sirens sounded across Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar early Friday morning as Iran launched retaliatory strikes against US military infrastructure in the region. Bahrain's Interior Ministry urged citizens to seek safe locations, and the Bahrain Defense Force confirmed intercepting multiple aerial attacks. Kuwait's air defenses intercepted Iranian missiles and drones, with the army clarifying that explosions were due to these interceptions. Qatar's Defense Ministry thwarted a missile attack, though one child sustained injuries from shrapnel. Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that the target in Bahrain was US helicopters and reconnaissance aircraft at Shakir Airbase, stating that the Iranian army would respond "quickly and decisively" to any counterattacks, which would incur a "heavy cost." The IRGC also claimed to have targeted US fighter jets in Jordan, where authorities reported intercepting three Iranian missiles with no casualties.
