Sopranos actor Vincent Pastore dies at age 80

Vincent Pastore, known for his role as Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero in HBO's The Sopranos, died at age 80 in his Bronx home, his manager confirmed Saturday. Pastore, who served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, had an extensive acting career, appearing in films like Goodfellas and Carlito's Way before his breakout role in The Sopranos. His manager, Robert Attermann, stated, "To the world, he will always be remembered as the unforgettable 'Big Pussy,' but to those of us who knew him, he was so much more." Pastore's character was central to a key storyline in The Sopranos, and he continued to appear in flashbacks after his character's death. He was part of the cast that received the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2000 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
