‘Soulmates’: Israeli man found dead at grave of childhood friend murdered at Nova

Bar Bechor Asraf, 25, was found dead last Saturday at the grave of his childhood friend, Liron Barda, who was murdered at the Nova music festival on October 7. The family described Bar and Liron as "inseparable" and "soulmates." Liron had stayed at the festival to provide first aid, saving lives before she was killed. Bar's family stated that Liron's death profoundly affected him, leading to initial withdrawal, though he later channeled his grief into charitable acts in her memory. His mother, Bracha Asraf, noted, "Liron was everything to him. She was his best friend and his psychologist." Despite appearing happy, Bar continued to struggle with his loss, often visiting Liron's grave and expressing his pain. His family is now advocating for greater recognition and support for friends of Oct. 7 victims, emphasizing that their suffering is also a consequence of the tragedy.
