Mamdani had urged the federal government to arrest Netanyahu if he visits New York City for the U.N. General Assembly in September, agreeing with the International Criminal Court's call for his arrest. However, Mamdani later clarified that New York City lacks the independent legal authority to enforce such a warrant.
