Syria still committed to diplomatic option with Israel, FM Shaibani tells Arab League – report

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani stated on Monday that Syria remains committed to a diplomatic solution with Israel. Speaking at the 166th ministerial session of the Arab League in Cairo, Shaibani affirmed, “We remain committed to the option of a diplomatic solution and are working hard to achieve it, while working to end Israeli attacks, arrests, and incursions.” He also advocated for the Syrian government to have exclusive control over weaponry to enhance national security, calling it “a deterrent decision and an absolute sovereign right of the state.” Additionally, Shaibani expressed Syria's solidarity with Gulf Arab states and Jordan and condemned Iranian attacks on these countries.
