Tal Yinon Dardik released as court finds detention grounds insufficient

The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court ordered the immediate release of Tal Yinon Dardik on Tuesday, finding insufficient grounds for his detention on charges of violating a military restriction order. Judge Amir Shaked ruled that the cancellation of the requirement for Dardik to stay at his mother-in-law's home significantly weakened the evidence against him. Dardik, suspected of involvement in attacks against Palestinians, remains subject to a separate military order issued Monday, which bans him from most of the West Bank and requires regular police reporting. Attorney Nati Rom, representing Dardik, stated, "We are pleased that the defense's arguments from the outset were accepted. There was no violation and no justification for his detention."
