Tate brothers denied immediate bail as they contest extradition to Britain

Social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate were denied immediate bail in Miami as they contest extradition to Britain on rape charges. Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis deferred a ruling on their bail request, keeping them in federal custody. The brothers, arrested July 18, face charges of rape, assault, and facilitating trafficking in Britain, with allegations spanning from 2010 to 2017. Prosecutors argued against their release, citing a video where Andrew Tate stated, “slap, slap, grab, choke, shut up bitch, sex,” and asserting, “They promote incredible violence against women. It is not a character, it is who they are.” The Tates, who also face human trafficking charges in Romania, claimed their online personas were “hyperbolic characters” to engage audiences. Britain has until September 16 to submit its full extradition request.
