Technion ranks 25th worldwide in AI, outperforming elite US universities

The Technion-Israel Institute of Technology has been ranked 25th globally in a new index assessing universities' impact on AI research, talent, and entrepreneurship. Compiled by US public relations firm W5, the AI Production Capacity index places Technion first in Israel and fourth in Europe. Notably, the university ranked eighth worldwide for the number of graduates founding AI companies, outperforming institutions like Harvard in certain categories despite having fewer resources. Technion President Prof. Uri Sivan stated, "Despite the dramatic disparity in resources between the Technion and leading American universities and other top institutions worldwide, the Technion has secured a place among the world's leading universities." The ranking considers factors such as alumni and faculty in leading AI companies, entrepreneurship, research output, and AI education depth.
