Terrorist visited Binyamin spring day before attack; IDF tracker shot him, saved victim’s son
Netanel Shukrun was killed at Ein Raya spring in Binyamin; probe found the terrorist had visited a day earlier and exploited Yom Kippur crowds; an IDF tracker wounded him, saving Shukrun’s son; forces later raided his town; Palestinians say dozens detained
A Hamas operative, 37-year-old Kadri Samara, murdered Netanel Shukrun at the Ein Raya spring near Neve Tzuf. Samara had visited the spring a day before the attack, which occurred on the eve of Yom Kippur. An IDF tracker from the Binyamin Brigade shot and wounded the terrorist, saving Shukrun's 16-year-old son who was present. Following a manhunt, Duvdevan troops apprehended Samara at a clinic in Ramallah. IDF forces also raided Samara's hometown of Bidu, detaining approximately 50 people. Netanel Shukrun, a father of six, was described by residents as "a kind, humble, modest and beloved man."
