Thailand's FM summons Israeli ambassador over tourist behavior, calls for taking stronger actions

Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, summoned Israeli Ambassador Alona Fisher-Kamm on Tuesday in Bangkok to address concerns over the behavior of some Israeli tourists. The minister stated that while Thailand welcomes visitors, "tourists of any nationality can do whatever they want here" is unacceptable, as incidents have harmed Thai culture and feelings. Ambassador Fisher-Kamm acknowledged the concerns and proposed creating a "dos and don'ts" document for Israeli travelers. However, the Thai foreign minister emphasized the need for Israel to take "stronger actions." This meeting occurred two days before a planned protest outside the Israeli Embassy against "gray foreign capital" and foreign businesses, including those operated by Israelis.
