The Gulf monarchies condemn Israel for Temple Mount violence

Clashes erupted on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem between Muslim worshippers and Israeli police, leading to two arrests, dozens of Palestinian injuries, and 15 hospitalizations. The violence occurred on the Muslim festival of Eid Al-Adha and the Jewish fast day of Tisha B'Av. Initially, police banned entry but later allowed Jews into the holy site. Saudi Arabia and Qatar joined Jordan in condemning Israel, with the Saudi Foreign Ministry denouncing "the Israeli occupation forces" for "attacked the faithful." Qatar called it an "Israeli aggression" that should provoke global condemnation. Israeli Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan stated that closing the Temple Mount during Muslim holidays "is not part of the status quo."
