A 1982 document, "The Project," outlined a 100-year plan to "sabotage" Western institutions, followed by the 1991 "Explanatory Memorandum" detailing a "grand jihad in destroying Western civilization." Switzerland has served as a central hub for the movement since 1961, with powerful dynastic clans operating an opaque network of organizations, often acting as interlocutors for Western governments. The Brotherhood, funded significantly by Qatar, uses terms like "diversity, equity, and inclusion" to shield itself from scrutiny, branding criticism as "Islamophobia."
