Times Square stabbing leaves woman dead, attacker dies after NYPD response

On Monday, August 31, 2026, a woman identified as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros stabbed two people in Times Square, New York City, killing a 32-year-old woman and injuring a 68-year-old man who remains in stable condition. NYPD officers confronted Cisneros, who was armed with two knives, near West 43rd Street. After she refused to drop the weapons, stating, "I'm not dropping anything.
