Toronto pro-Palestinian protesters march near Jewish care facility after kosher bakery shooting

A pro-Palestinian demonstration in Toronto on Sunday, July 26, drew a larger crowd than usual at the Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West intersection, following a shooting at a Jewish-owned bakery hours earlier. The protest, which occurred in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood, included an impromptu march toward Baycrest, a Jewish senior care facility, before being halted by police. Protesters chanted "Death, death to the IDF" and "from the sea to the river Palestine will live forever." The increased turnout was reportedly a reaction to the July 21 arrest of Liberate Palestine 48 organizer Ahmad Hajahmad on a terrorism charge related to alleged Hamas activities, which he denies.
