Trump admin sanctions three far-left groups over terrorism, anti-Israel activity

The Trump administration sanctioned three far-left organizations on Wednesday, citing their involvement in terrorism and anti-Israel activities. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated, "Political terrorism has no place in our society." The designated entities include Palestine Action, a UK-based group proscribed as a terrorist organization by Britain in July 2025, which has caused millions in damages through attacks on defense companies linked to Israel. Also sanctioned was Masar Badil, a transnational organization identified as a front for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and closely tied to the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network; two of its officials, Zaid Abdulnasser and Rawa Alsagheer, were also designated. The third entity, Italy-based Autistici/Inventati (A/I Collective), was designated for providing digital infrastructure to violent far-left groups, including U.S.-designated terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah. These sanctions align with the administration's 2026 Counterterrorism Strategy, which prioritizes combating violent far-left extremism.
