Trump: Iran war will end ‘immediately after the election’

However, top White House advisers, including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have reportedly cautioned that the conflict could extend beyond Inauguration Day in January 2029. Trump also warned of increased American strikes on Iranian oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, claiming nine had been taken out, a number U.S. Central Command later confirmed as 10 in the past week, noting these vessels funded the IRGC. At a Dallas convention, Trump defended his administration's military actions, stating, "We cannot let them have a nuclear weapon."
