Trump nominates Rep. Wesley Hunt to be Saudi Arabia envoy

U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas) as ambassador to Saudi Arabia, sending the nomination to the Senate for confirmation. The position has been vacant during Trump's second term. Hunt, a former U.S. Army officer and helicopter pilot, served two deployments in Saudi Arabia, including two years as a diplomatic liaison. He stated, "I know the region. I know what is at stake." Hunt also co-chairs the Congressional Caucus on Black-Jewish relations and has expressed strong support for Israel.
