Trump sells VIP access to Truth Social posts for $100k. in what some view as insider trading

Donald Trump's media company, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), launched Truth API, a subscription service offering early access to his Truth Social posts for $100,000 per month. This service, aimed at customers including Wall Street trading firms, has drawn criticism for potentially enabling insider trading, as Trump's posts have historically influenced financial markets. Interim CEO Kevin McGurn stated, "Truth API delivers a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform's most market-moving Truths." Trump, who owns approximately 41% of TMTG, could financially benefit from this venture. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff have requested a probe by the U.S. securities regulator, calling it "an outrageous abuse of the President's office for his personal benefit." Rep. Jamie Raskin also launched an investigation, asserting that Trump is "using his office to enrich in spectacular fashion himself and his family and corporate cronies." A TMTG spokesperson countered that Democrats "must have invented a new theory of 'insider trading' based on publicly available information."
