Trump told US Congress to provide $206 million for Gaza peacekeeping force, letters show

The Trump administration has informed Congress of its intent to provide over $206 million for a proposed International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, marking the first substantial US funding for the stalled plan to rebuild the enclave. Two July 30 State Department notifications, seen by Reuters, detail $200 million for the ISF's equipment, infrastructure, and operational costs, plus an additional $6 million to repurpose US armored vehicles. The ISF is intended to lead security operations, support demilitarization, and facilitate humanitarian aid delivery, though its final composition is still being negotiated. Despite this funding, the overall peace plan, which includes an Israeli withdrawal and Hamas disarmament, remains stalled as both Israel and Hamas have not met the necessary conditions. Five countries have committed troops to the ISF, with Egypt and Jordan offering police training.
