Two arrested over theft of shoulder-fired MATADOR missile from IDF during Galilee anti-crime op.

Two individuals were arrested in Shfaram on Sunday morning in connection with the theft of a shoulder-fired MATADOR missile from the IDF during operations in northern Israel over the weekend. One of the suspects is an illegal resident. The missile was recovered during a joint operation by the Northern District police, the IDF's anti-terrorist unit, and military northern command officers. This incident follows a separate case in early August where an IDF reservist and a civilian were indicted for the theft and alleged trafficking of an M16 rifle from an IDF base in northern Israel, which also uncovered a suspected drug network supplying soldiers.
