Two children hospitalized in Jerusalem after severe poisoning from THC-infused cannabis candies

Two brothers, aged three and five, were hospitalized at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem after experiencing severe poisoning from THC and CBD-infused cannabis candies. The children presented with dizziness, confusion, blurred vision, and difficulty walking steadily. Each child reportedly consumed two candies, with each containing 20 mg of THC and 10 mg of CBD. Dr. Amir Fischer noted, "The children suffered severe poisoning as a result of exposure to the substances, particularly the three-year-old brother, who weighs less." They were admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit for monitoring and discharged in good condition after 24 hours. Talia Chernosvitov, deputy head nurse, advised parents to keep potentially dangerous products out of children's reach, stating, "Children are curious, and they will not necessarily know how to distinguish between an ordinary piece of candy and a toxic product that could be life-threatening."
