Two fatal shootings within 24 hours have increased the murder toll in Israel's Arab sector to 158 deaths in 2026. Early Thursday morning, Ayman Jaramna, 20, was shot and killed in Muqeible. He was evacuated to HaEmek Hospital in Afula but pronounced dead upon arrival. This incident followed the shooting death of a 57-year-old Tira resident in Tayibe on Wednesday, who was found in his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating both incidents, with initial reports suggesting the Tayibe killing may be linked to a blood feud. The victim's partner was also killed in a shooting approximately 18 months prior.
