Two Israeli children eat chocolate spiked with hallucinogenic mushrooms, rushed to hospital

Two Israeli toddlers, aged five and six, were hospitalized in the Galilee Medical Center's pediatric intensive care unit after ingesting chocolate containing hallucinogenic mushrooms during a family vacation. Upon arrival, the children exhibited neurological symptoms, including confusion, dilated pupils, and active hallucinations, according to Dr. Sally Makhom. The National Poison Control Center identified the mushrooms as likely from the Psilocybe/Panaeolus family, known to cause hallucinations and other severe effects. Dr. Zvi Sheleg, Deputy Director, called it "a serious and life-threatening incident" and urged the public to keep dangerous substances away from children and seek immediate medical attention if poisoning is suspected.
