Two Jewish groups register to lobby, as AIPAC, ADL and Federation trim such costs in 2026, federal data suggests

Two new Jewish organizations, the American Jewish Medical Association and Democratic Majority for Israel, registered to lobby for the first time in the first half of 2026, according to a JNS review of U.S. Senate disclosures. The American Jewish Medical Association, formed after October 7, spent $20,000 from April to June, focusing on antisemitism in healthcare. Its CEO, Eveline Shekhman, stated, "Every community deserves a seat at the table when healthcare policy is being shaped." Democratic Majority for Israel spent $100,000 on U.S.-Israel relations and Middle East policy.

• Despite these new registrations, overall lobbying expenses for major Jewish groups declined during this period compared to the first half of 2025.
• AIPAC reduced its spending by 6% to $1.7 million, while the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) cut its spending by 19% to $720,000.
• The Jewish Federations of North America also decreased spending by 19% to $312,109.
• The Republican Jewish Coalition and Zionist Organization of America maintained their spending at $200,000 and $100,000, respectively.
