Two Palestinians arrested on suspicion of starting Gilad Farm fire in West Bank

Two Palestinians were arrested Monday by Israeli security forces on suspicion of igniting a fire at Gilad Farm in Samaria on Saturday. The fire, reportedly caused by a cigarette thrown from a vehicle on Highway 55, damaged numerous structures and vehicles, and injured two firefighters and several residents. There is no evidence suggesting intentional arson. The Gilad Farm committee thanked security forces, stating, "We demand that the law enforcement authorities fully investigate, act decisively, and impose the most severe penalties provided for by law on those responsible for this criminal act." National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir congratulated the police, asserting that "anyone who sets fires, harms residents, and tries to terrorize should know that the security forces will pursue them, reach them, and bring them to justice."
