Two people rescued alive from Nepal hydropower tunnel

Two workers, Sanjay Sah and Kabir Maharjan, were rescued alive on Friday from a tunnel at the Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Station in Nepal, nine days after an ice, rock, and mud slide. The August 26 disaster killed over 1,200 people and displaced tens of thousands. Officials believe at least 900 people were trapped in tunnels across six hydropower projects along the Trishuli River. Kabir Maharjan sustained injuries affecting his hands and legs, while Sah's injuries are not critical. Both are being transported to a hospital in Kathmandu. Kabir's brother, Amir Maharjan, expressed the family's happiness, stating, "The entire family is very happy."
