UAE gives all-clear after air defenses detect Iranian missile, Tehran denies attack

The UAE's defense ministry reported on Tuesday that its air defense systems detected and intercepted a missile threat, with two ballistic missiles reportedly launched from Iran targeting marine traffic. The ministry assured the public that "If any sounds are heard, they are the result of air defense interceptions" and later confirmed the situation was safe. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, denied responsibility for the attack, calling it a "false flag" and attributing it to "the ongoing evils of the US and the Zionist regime." This incident occurred amidst heightened regional tensions, following the expiration of a Memorandum of Understanding and US President Donald Trump's declaration of the Strait of Hormuz as "US territory." Trump also stated that "no talks or conversations" were ongoing or scheduled with Iran.
