UK Green Party members discussed 'killing Zionists' in leaked WhatsApp messages

Leaked WhatsApp messages from a private group called "Greens Against Imperialism," used by UK Green Party members, revealed discussions about "killing Zionists" and described British Jews as a "weapon" for Israel. Sophus Magill, a Green Party parish councilor, established the group and stated his desire for Israel to be "wiped off the map." Another member suggested that "British Jews are a brilliant weapon for the Israeli state." The group also included comments from Ashley Tubb, who described Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as part of a "national liberation movement." Animah Kosai, a membership officer for Global Majority Greens, promoted a motion titled "Zionism is Racism" within the chat. The Green Party declined to comment on unofficial forums, while the Campaign Against Antisemitism and the Board of Deputies of British Jews called for urgent investigations and expulsions, with the latter stating, "Such rhetoric lowers the threshold for intimidation and violence against Jews in Britain."
