UK Supreme Court to hear appeal over Palestine Action proscription in November

The UK Supreme Court will hear an appeal on November 4-5 regarding the government's proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organization. This legal challenge, brought by co-founder Huda Ammori, contests the Home Secretary's July 2025 decision to ban the group under the Terrorism Act 2000. The proscription followed disruptive actions by Palestine Action, including incidents at an RAF base and against defense contractors linked to Israel. The appeal will determine if the Home Secretary's decision, which requires a belief that an organization is “concerned in terrorism,” was lawful, particularly after the Court of Appeal overturned an initial ruling that found the decision inconsistent with policy and incompatible with human rights conventions.
