Unauthorized weight loss supplement containing banned ingredient leads to hospitalization

The Health Ministry issued a warning on Tuesday regarding the unauthorized weight loss supplement "G-Slim" after it caused a young person's hospitalization. Laboratory tests revealed the product contains 53.8 milligrams of sibutramine per capsule, a substance banned in Israel and other countries due to its association with increased risks of heart attacks, strokes, and other severe side effects. This dosage is more than three times higher than previously banned products. The ministry urged the public to only purchase health products from authorized sources and to avoid unregulated supplements sold on social media or unfamiliar websites. They also encouraged reporting encounters with the product or suspected counterfeit medications to the Health Call Center at *5400.
