US Army sergeant's wife deported to Honduras as Trump continues immigration crackdown

Cristy Maryori Villafranca-Trejo, wife of US Army Sergeant Hedar Leonel Turcios Juarez, was deported to Honduras on Monday as part of the Trump administration's immigration crackdown. A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson confirmed she "was removed from the United States." Villafranca-Trejo, mother of a 6-year-old, was arrested by ICE on July 11 during a "targeted immigration enforcement operation" after allegedly entering the U.S. illegally in 2016 due to violence in Honduras. She is at least the seventh spouse or parent of an active-duty U.S. military member deported under this administration. Separately, the immigrant father of a U.S. sailor on the USS Abraham Lincoln was also recently detained.
