US attacking Iran to 'swiftly punish' Islamic Republic for killing two American soldiers in Jordan

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced new airstrikes against Iran on Saturday night, following the deaths of two U.S. service members in Jordan on Friday. CENTCOM stated the strikes were launched at 6 p.m. and are intended to "swiftly punish Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces" responsible for the attacks. Additionally, the strikes aim to "further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz." Earlier reports indicated one American service member was missing and four had been hospitalized and released. Following the news, Jason Brodsky, policy director at United Against Nuclear Iran, stated, "No more proportional responses."
