US calls on international governments to protect Jewish communities ahead of High Holy Days

The United States has urged international governments to enhance security for Jewish communities globally ahead of the High Holy Days, citing rising antisemitism. A senior US State Department official stated, “While the toxic hatred that is antisemitism is increasing around the world, the United States continues to call on governments to take decisive action to protect Jewish communities.” US diplomatic missions were instructed to request increased security around synagogues and Jewish institutions, including the deployment of police, counterterrorism units, or military personnel where necessary. The State Department also called for establishing a system to deliver immediate threat alerts on Shabbat and Jewish holidays to observant Jews. This initiative aligns with a US policy to combat antisemitism “with determination.”
