The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to revoke up to 200,000 business and tourism visas (B1/B2) from foreigners who have applied for or are currently seeking asylum in the United States. This move, if implemented, would be the largest mass visa revocation in US history, according to an Associated Press report citing State Department documents and officials. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau stated on X/Twitter that the American immigration system "has long been swamped by frivolous asylum claims." The revocations, expected to be announced in the coming weeks, would apply to visas issued between 2016 and 2026. While not leading to immediate deportation, individuals with pending asylum cases would lose their business or tourism traveler status.
