US Pro-Palestinian groups push to open criminal proceedings against Jerusalem Deputy Mayor

The Hind Rajab Foundation and the Legal Center for Palestine have requested that US and Canadian authorities open criminal proceedings against Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Aryeh King. They accuse King, who holds Israeli and British citizenship, of involvement in "illegal population transfer" and "incitement to genocide" due to his efforts in Jewish settlement in East Jerusalem and statements made during the war. King is expected to visit the US and Canada for a fundraising tour. The foundation cited his alleged calls to halt aid to Gaza, support for blocking aid trucks, and statements advocating for the expulsion of Gaza residents and the destruction of its cities. They also claim he referred to UNRWA as a "Nazi terrorist organization." King rejected the allegations, stating he is "proud to be a loyal emissary of the Jewish people in Israel and around the world" and called the foundation "extremist Muslim arm that sees Jews and the State of Israel as an obstacle." The US Justice Department has not announced an investigation, and the requests are unilateral actions by the organizations.
