US sanctions are hurting Iran, but economic collapse alone may not topple regime, expert says

Professor Uzi Rabi, head of the Moshe Dayan Center, stated on 103FM radio that US sanctions are significantly harming Iran's economy by limiting its access to hard currency, impacting its agriculture and industry. He noted that while the US economic blockade is theoretically effective if consistently applied, its success depends on the cooperation of countries like China and Turkey.

"The economic path is not certain,"

Rabi cautioned, emphasizing that an economic collapse alone might not guarantee the regime's downfall, as Iran has historically managed a "resistance economy" and the regime has its own separate economic structures. He also warned against diplomatic agreements, calling them "a blessing in disguise, giving them time to gain," and stressed that the Iranian threat extends beyond Israel to the entire free world.
