US support for Iran war falls to 31% as Trump approval remains at record low- poll

A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, which concluded on Monday, indicates that US public support for military action against Iran has dropped to 31%, the lowest level since the conflict began on February 28. This decline, down from 37% in March, is largely due to reduced support among Republicans, with 69% now backing the war compared to 77% previously. The poll also found that 69% of Americans believe President Trump has not adequately explained the war's objectives. Consequently, Trump's overall approval rating remains at a record low of 33% for the second consecutive survey, matching his lowest approval during his first term in December 2017. Furthermore, 83% of respondents anticipate the war will continue "for an extended period of time."
