Vance says Israeli campaign tried to sway US opinion against Iran diplomacy

US Vice President JD Vance accused members of Israel’s government of attempting to influence American public opinion against a deal to end the war with Iran. During an interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, Vance stated, “There’s a literal foreign influence campaign being funded to tank the very deal that I was pursuing.” He defended the US-Iran interim peace agreement, which was reached last month but has faced opposition in Israel. Vance also claimed an Israeli-linked campaign targeted him personally over his diplomatic efforts. Former Israeli diplomat Alon Pinkas called Vance’s remarks “unprecedented,” noting that no sitting US vice president has ever openly accused Israel of undermining American policy in this manner.
