Violent attacks by Israeli extremists in West Bank fall 25%

Violent attacks by extremist Israelis against Palestinians in the West Bank have decreased by 25% since March, when incidents peaked, according to new data presented to Israeli leadership. This decline, which is 11% when including all acts of violence, follows intensified enforcement efforts by the IDF, Shin Bet, and Israel Police. These efforts include 23 administrative restriction orders signed by Central Command chief Maj.-Gen. Avi Bluth, banning individuals from the West Bank or imposing house arrest. Additionally, arrests have been made in several cases, including six Israelis accused of arson and four who attacked a CNN news crew.

"You can't use romanticized terms like 'Hilltop Youth' to describe those who enter villages and burn the homes of uninvolved civilians. They are an anarchic fringe group."

Security officials estimate about 70 Israelis are primary organizers of these attacks, with 300 followers, many of whom are anarchist fringe youth not residing in the West Bank. Officials emphasize these acts are illegal, immoral, and contrary to Jewish values, diverting attention from counter-terrorism efforts and damaging Israel's international standing.
