Voices from the Arab press: Mecca pact will strengthen security, stability

The Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, signed by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, aims to strengthen collective security and stability among Islamic countries. Kuwait's Al Rai views it as a crucial step for strategic cooperation, emphasizing that "an armed attack against one party is considered an attack against all." The agreement seeks to enhance military coordination, exchange expertise, and foster economic cooperation.

The agreement comes amid rapidly changing regional and international conditions, making coordination among friendly and brotherly states essential to preserving stability and protecting shared interests.

Meanwhile, the UK's Asharq al-Awsat interprets the pact as an alliance against Iran, noting that it brings significant strategic depth, military capabilities, and a combined population of 400 million to counter Tehran's regional influence. This new axis is expected to deter Iranian expansion, safeguard the oil market, and reshape Arab and Islamic public opinion regarding the ongoing conflict.
