Walla news site's advertising department reportedly offered a $200,000 promotional campaign to Itamar Ben Gvir's National Security Ministry, which would have run until days before the October 27 election. The proposed campaign, titled "On the Home Front," would have involved Walla's newsroom producing articles, a documentary series, and a special broadcast about civilian security squads championed by Ben Gvir. The content, which would have included full disclosure of the ministry's involvement, was also to be promoted on radio stations and a news app owned by Walla's owner. A senior Walla official stated the campaign fell through due to its proximity to the election, though a Walla source called the proposal "unprecedented" and "unconscionable." The ministry denied receiving any such offer, and Walla's newsroom chief emphasized the newsroom's independence from the advertising department.
