Warren Buffett stops Gates Foundation donations following Epstein revelations

Warren Buffett announced he has ceased donating to the Gates Foundation, redirecting approximately $6 billion in Berkshire Hathaway stock to four family foundations overseen by his children. This decision follows revelations regarding interactions between Bill Gates and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Since 2006, Buffett had pledged to donate shares to the Gates Foundation throughout his lifetime, contributing over $47 billion. Bill Gates has expressed regret for his association with Epstein, stating he "did not fully understand the extent" of Epstein's crimes. Buffett's latest donation includes 9 million Class B shares to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation and 1 million shares each to the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, Sherwood Foundation, and NoVo Foundation, with remaining shares to be donated by December 31, 2034.
