WATCH: Funnel cloud seen in Golan Heights amid widespread thunderstorm, flash flood warnings

A funnel cloud was observed in the Golan Heights on Saturday amidst widespread thunderstorm and flash flood warnings issued by the Israel Meteorological Service. Footage from N12 News showed the funnel cloud, a potential precursor to tornadoes, seemingly touching the ground. Heavy rainfall was also reported in the Jerusalem area, including near Ma'aleh Adumim, with 11 millimeters of rain falling in Jerusalem over one hour, breaking the August record. Several individuals were rescued from floods in Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim. Dr. Amir Givati, Director of the Israel Meteorological Service, advised caution, noting unprecedented flooding in the Og Stream for this time of year. Flash flood warnings were in effect for the Dead Sea region and northeastern Negev, while a coastal warning advised against swimming due to high waves.
