Highway 60 reopened to traffic on Wednesday after a bus caught fire between Tapuach Junction and Rechelim, prompting the Israel Police to initially close both directions. No injuries were reported in the incident. Later the same day, Haifa firefighters responded to a separate fire in Tirat Carmel caused by an electric bicycle battery's thermal runaway in a residential yard. The blaze was extinguished, with damage limited to the bicycle and no injuries. Following this, the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority reissued safety guidelines for charging lithium batteries, advising against overcharging, excessive heat, and using damaged or uncertified chargers.
