‘We are not going anywhere’: Danon defends Jewish communities in West Bank at UN meeting

During a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday, Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, asserted that Jewish communities in the West Bank, referred to as Judea and Samaria, are permanent and will continue to grow, rejecting the notion that they are obstacles to peace. Danon stated, "We are not going anywhere. Jewish communities will stay in Judea and Samaria." He emphasized that these communities are "permanent homes, thriving neighborhoods where families live."

• Danon accused the Security Council of a double standard, alleging it focuses on Israeli "settler violence" while not giving similar attention to Palestinian attacks, which he termed "hundreds of Palestinian terrorist attacks."
• He defended the Jewish presence by citing the Jewish people's historical and biblical connection to the West Bank, stating, "Our right to live in our land is based on our historical connection to it. It is described in the Torah."
