'We bow our heads in memory': Herzog marks 25th anniversary of September 11 attack on Twin Towers

President Isaac Herzog, along with former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, marked the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks in the United States. Herzog delivered a video message from Jerusalem's 9/11 Living Memorial, expressing condolences and stating, "We bow our heads in memory of the thousands who were murdered on that dark day." He also emphasized the ongoing fight against global terror, noting that "here in Israel, we understand this deadly challenge all too well." Bennett reflected on the attack's impact, asserting that terrorists "failed" to break America's spirit. Lapid highlighted that the attacks changed the world forever and reiterated Israel's solidarity with the US. Additionally, the US Embassy, KKL-JNF, and JNF-USA held a joint memorial ceremony at the Jerusalem site, which is the only memorial outside the US to list all victims and incorporate a Twin Towers fragment.
